So you’ve found a cape in the shop that you and your girl really loves, that’s great news! But what to wear with it? you wonder. Well rejoice, because I have hand-picked a few of my favourites that you can order today and create a total look that will dazzle and shine.
Today I’m going to focus on the Fleur Bleue cape. It’s the simplest of our capes but it’s also the most elegant and refined of our collection. With its classic pointy collar, it But you’d surprised to see how many looks you can pull with only one cape.
For a casual look:
I love the idea to wear simple jeans and a white top with this cape. It’s the best way to dress down but still look super stylish. I find Zara’s new kids collection perfect for that. They have jeans with printed flowers that look like they’ve been painted by hand. The embroidered shirt adds a delicate touch of romantic. Both are available up to 4 years old.
Fancy a dress rather than jeans? Why not go with Zara’s denim dress?
For a classic take:
If you have a special occasion and can’t imagine your girl wearing anything else but a dress, here are some super cute options. First, Jojo Maman Bébé has this smock dress (I know, smock!! Always a win) that’s great for a spring wedding. The ditsy pattern will pair nicely with the plain cape and they will complement each other and you can dress girls up to 5 years old.
I also like Mamas and Papas tulle dress. Girls love full skirts that move around as they jump and this one has a bit of added fun with the big silver spots on. It’s available up to 4 years old.
For an evening party:
No hesitation there, the coolest of outfits to wear with the cape is this navy velvet all-in-one from La Redoute. If it was available for adults, I’d probably wear it myself. Velvet is the most luxurious of fabric, and having it in navy is a great way to play with the contrast of the top collar and the soft silver-blue of the cape. That one goes up to 3 years old but it’s selling fast, so make sure you get it now. Pair it with white tights or knee-high socks and t-bar sandals (I love Next’s pewter ones).
For a London day out:
This dress from Next would make the outfit such a fun combo! I love the illustrative style that reminds me of Quentin Blake and its bold colours would work well with the cape’s blues. Take photos around London’s monument or at the top of a tour bus, and you have your perfect photoshoot!
